Famous Last Words: Learning the Ropes

Last week, I completed the week two assignments for this course.
At first, seeing we had about six assignments a week was overwhelming. I am normally good at hitting deadlines, but I wanted to make sure my planner portrayed exactly what was expected of me. Once I got started, though, I found that I will definitely find this class enjoyable. Additionally, there are so many extra credit opportunities throughout the course that I plan to take full advantage of. The online course wiki is extremely helpful, and I have bookmarked multiple pages that I think could come in handy for the future.

I had fun with the first reading/storytelling assignment on week two. I wrote about the story similar to Beauty and the Beast, but with a Basilisk. I found it fun trying to change the story up a little, but keeping the same core. I feel like I will most often approach changing the character's motives/attitudes throughout this class, because that felt the most natural for me.

Additionally, I had fun with the blog comments and the extra credit additional blog comments. This was a fun way to get a short biography from others in the class, and I found that I have a lot in common with many of them. Blogs are fun to write, especially when you get to see people's likes and dislikes along the way.

I have settled into this semester well and am currently aiming at getting ahead in all my classes. I feel that, especially in this class, getting ahead will help me toward the end of the year when finals/dead week take over. I'm enjoying getting back in the swing of things, and I look forward to seeing what this semester has in store.

I'm excited to challenge my creativity in the following weeks with many more storytelling exercises and projects.

Reading Notes: Mr. Miacca, Reading B

This story is about a boy that sometimes was a troublemaker. His mom always told him that if he kept being bad, Mr. Miacca would take him from the street while he was playing outside. Mr. Miacca threw Tommy (the boy) in a bag and took him to his home. He tells the boy he's going to eat him for dinner, and tells his wife Sally that he has dinner ready. Mr. Miacca realizes he forgot herbs to put on the boy, so he tells his wife to watch Tommy while he goes and gets some. Tommy talks to Sally about if her husband always eats boys, and she says yes. Tommy tells Sally she should like pudding instead, and offers his mom's homemade pudding for her. Sally is foolish and let's Tommy convince her to go home and fetch her some pudding then come right back. Tommy was then free from Mr Miacca until he was bad once again. Mr Miacca.
