Technology

Class Technology

I am in the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication, which has given me several opportunities to be exposed to many of these technological websites. Specifically, I'm most familiar with WordPress, Weebly and Tumblr. I enjoy using these platforms, because it's practice of graphic design for my major. Additionally, I used to be a Pinterest fanatic. I'm positive I can navigate that website!
Technology is becoming increasingly important in the world, and in the classroom.

I have used Wordpress, Weebly, Canva and GoogleDocs in other classes, but have never used Pinterest or Tumlr for class. I'm excited to be able to use these, because I look at them for fun in my spare time. I am very familiar with Canva to create graphics, but I'm ready to challenge myself even more with this platform for graphic technology.

  1. It is so nice to meet students who have explored all these different kinds of tools, Demery! Fabulous! Teaching online is a perfect excuse to promote these online tools for learning. Pinterest, in particular, is pretty amazing: for finding/researching images, it is very powerful, and I actually get lots of good suggestions from Pinterest now about images related to Indian art and also for growth mindset, since those are two things I pin a lot. Of course they did not build the platform with education in mind... but it has actually turned out to be a very useful educational tool! Here's a search for growth mindset at Pinterest: teachers use Pinterest a LOT, so there is tons of stuff: Growth Mindset search at Pinterest
