Time Strategies
Part 1: Schedule
According to my preferred schedule, I am planning to complete Reading A and Reading B on Sunday (2 hours), Storytelling on Tuesday (1 hour), Project on Thursday (1 hour) and Blog Comments + Project Feedback on Friday (2 hours). This schedule seems like it will be the most convenient for me, and will help assist me to do the work in a non-rushed manner.
Part 2: Time Management Tips + Strategies
Last semester, I took two online courses. This allowed me to learn how to time manage very well, and I found that I successfully was ahead almost all semester in both classes. I constantly hear my peers talk about procrastination, but luckily I'm not too bad of a procrastinator! I chose to read the Article 3 Steps to Recapture Time because I felt that this would be the most beneficial for me. From this article, Rule #1 is refuse to yield your 1st 15 minutes. This believes that you should start your day by relaxing and envisioning your day, identifying what must be done and breaking it into doable chunks. Rule #2 is to "recognize the pruning season," in other words, removing clutter that may hinder your ability to conquer. This believes in removing the toxic parts of your life, which is very important to excelling in time management. Lastly, rule #3 is to practice saying no. In this sense, it means not letting certain plans hinder step 1 to execute, removing the excuse of "not having enough time," and learning how to respect your work and own it. Thanks, Joynicole Martinez!
Part 3: Reflection
This semester, I'm going to use Rule #1, refusing to yield my first 15 minutes of everyday. I believe this will help substantially. I already wake up and review my planner every day, but chunking the things I must get done in a day and tackling them will help. I feel that I'm very good at being on top of assignments and schoolwork, so I plan to work ahead in this class as much as I can... Starting now!
