Famous Last Words: February Vibes
It's February 13, and I finally feel like I've gotten back into the swing of things.
In this class specifically, I'm enjoying putting together my website. My site is a modern twist on Alice in Wonderland, which should be enjoyable. I'm a PR major, and I'm bringing in people skills, technology, social media and communication to these stories - which I look forward to doing. Sometimes it's hard for me to channel my creativity in writing these stories, but I know I'll power through it!
I am going to Cabo for spring break (March 18), and I can hardly wait. That's my main motivator right now! I got advised for next semester and only have 11 hours left to graduate, although it's my junior year. Looks like I'm going to have to make some decisions regarding graduating early, even though I definitely don't want to leave college anytime soon!

I have been very impressed with my classmates' stories in this class. Getting a chance to read them all to do blog comments has given me inspiration in my future stories, and I look forward to constantly challenging myself to do better. I hope that next week in this class I can go above and beyond and produce a great first story for my website!
My other classes are going well, and I'm staying super busy with my internship in Edmond this semester. It takes a lot of time, but I'm gaining valuable experience in the PR industry which I love. I also attended Gaylord College's Top Jobs event last weekend, where 20+ HR recruiters from top advertising and PR agencies come and speak with us for a short amount of time. This event is kind of like a career fair, and many of the professionals I spoke to offered to transfer my resume to the people they know in the cities I want to work in. I appreciate those willing to help the next generation - and I hope one day I can give back to younger students like they did for me!
Here's to week 6!
I love that your story is linked to your future career! Also, congrats on only having a few hours left to graduate. I'm jealous... I've got quite a few more to go. Also, hope that your stint at Top Jobs goes well! I'm sure that those resumes will end up in the right hands. I still need to figure out what I'm doing after graduation, but as you point out... I don't really want to.
ReplyDeleteHi Demery! That’s awesome that you only have 11 hours left to graduate, but also sad at the same time. No one wants to leave college early. I would add in another minor and try and last another year. And you will have a lot of fun in Cabo. I went two years ago and it was a blast. Everyone had so much fun.
